I was born in Dayton, Ohio on Wright Patterson AFB. My father was in the Air Force so we moved around quite a bit during my childhood years. We moved to SC in 1984 and I've been here ever since. I've been writing stories since I was in middle school, but the idea for this particular story came to me after watching the tragic events of 911 unfold on TV back in 2001.

I love the fantasy/sci-fi genre and I have countless books from various authors. The ones near and dear to my heart are The Shannara series by Terry Brooks, with his incredible ability for character development and originality; R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Uden series and his epic sword play scenes as well. But without a doubt, J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion filled me with the fire to embark on this journey as an author with its mythical imagery, action, failure and ultimate triumph of good over evil. That series remains my favorite and the one most responsible for setting me along this path. I would be remiss if I didn't thank my brother Michael for reading the trilogy to me as a seven year old child, filling a young boy's head with magic, wonder and dreams.

I invite you to come along with me for the ride as I begin this chapter in my life in earnest with The Last Soul. This book is only the beginning. I have many, many more stories in my head, some scribbled on papers that are over twenty years old, and even more yet to be born.

A Challenge...

"You shall guard Joseph Martin all the days of his life... When the time is right, you shall reveal yourself to him."

The voice of God the Father speaks to Trefenwyl, a captain in the Lord's Host, and so Trefenwyl departs to be present for the boy's birth.

But the angel is not the only one watching over Joseph Martin. As the boy grows into a restless and unfulfilled man, demonic forces begin to encroach upon him. His life starts to spiral out of control and danger mounts, but Joseph discovers he has a new ally when Trefenwyl reveals himself and saves him from certain death.

However, greater challenges and more dangers await this very special young man as he struggles to recover his faith in the midst of an epic battle of good versus evil in the inspiring saga, The Last Soul.

I love to read, but it's never easy to find the right mixture of excitement and depth in a book. 'The Last Soul' is a refreshing, very insightful story that makes you think - and it still has the action. It's the perfect book.
